Founded in 1968 by John Bradel Jr., Markman Engineering and Consulting Co. was named for the road he resided on. After developing a proprietary surface hardening process called Markaloy, John changed the company name to Markaloy Mfg. Co., Inc. The company made replacement parts for the cement and steel industries.

Receiving a patent for a retaining mechanism in 1974 prompted John to purchase Ambridge Tool and Die Company. There he produced the replacement parts and grew the Tool and Die division. Over the years Markaloy has evolved into a full service Tool and Die, CNC, General Machining and Machinery Repair shop.

John Jr. retired from Markaloy at the age of 87 selling the company to his son, John Bradel III.
John Bradel Jr. age 90, departed this life peacefully on April 7, 2015. He was a Veteran of WWII proudly serving in the U.S. Navy as a Deep Water Diver and a Machinist Mate. He was also a 32° Mason, Gourgas Lodge of Perfection, a long-time member of the Antique Auto Racing Association and the Studebaker Driver’s Club. John will be missed by all.
